However, while agreeing with PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi also voiced a complaint. He said, "Our only grievance is that the PM did not pay tribute to those who lost their lives at the Kumbh Mela." Rahul also mentioned that the youth who participated in the Kumbh Mela desire one thing more from the Prime Minister – employment.
Questions raised on democracy
Rahul Gandhi also raised questions about democratic processes. He stated that the Leader of the Opposition should be given an opportunity to speak according to the democratic framework, but he is repeatedly obstructed. He said, "This is the new India, where the opposition is not given the right to voice its opinion."
What did PM Modi say?
Speaking during the second phase of the budget session, Prime Minister Modi stated that the success of events like the Kumbh Mela is proof that India is becoming increasingly aware of and proud of its cultural heritage. He said that the Kumbh Mela has further empowered our thinking. He cited the example of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, stating that this event is preparing us for the next 1000 years.
PM Modi said that the Kumbh Mela is not just a religious event, but also an opportunity to showcase India's unity, dedication, and collective consciousness. He stated that this event helps strengthen the nation's strength and social harmony.
