Northeast India on the Verge of a New Revolution
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Advantage Assam is not merely a summit, but the dawn of a new era for Northeast India. Eastern India was once the heart of the nation's prosperity, and now it is ready to showcase its strength again.” He highlighted Assam's strategic location, resources, and youthful population as crucial for India's economic growth. He also recalled his “A for Assam” statement during his 2013 visit to Assam, mentioning that this dream is now being realized.
AI to Mean - Assam Intelligence
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, was also present at the summit. He described Assam as the next hub for technological revolution, stating, “The world has known Assam as the tea capital, but in the future, it will become a technology hub.” He emphatically stated, “AI will not only mean ‘Artificial Intelligence’ but also ‘Assam Intelligence.’ Assam's youth will be the next global center for technological innovation.”
Assam to Gain Global Stage
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the ongoing infrastructural projects in the Northeast. He mentioned that Assam and the Northeast are being connected through railways, highways, and digital connectivity, creating new opportunities for business and investment. He praised the Assam government and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that the state's development policies are empowering local youth to compete globally.
The ‘Advantage Assam 20’ summit aims to attract investment into the state and establish it as a commercial hub in South Asia. The summit holds the potential for increased investments across various sectors and the signing of new trade agreements.
