Rajya Sabha Uproar During Budget Session: Kharge Objects to New Education Policy.

Parliament Budget Session: The Parliament's Budget Session witnessed heated debates between the government and the opposition regarding the New Education Policy (NEP). On Tuesday, the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, made a statement in the Rajya Sabha that sparked a major uproar. The ruling party bly objected to Kharge's remarks, further escalating the situation.

Uproar Caused by Kharge's Statement

When the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, expressed his views on the NEP in the Rajya Sabha, Kharge condemned his statement. Upon being reprimanded by the Deputy Chairman, he reacted angrily, stating, "There is dictatorship here." Further attempts to silence him led to his outburst: "Whatever needs to be hammered, we will hammer it properly. We will hammer the government."

The ruling party expressed its displeasure at Kharge's statement and demanded an apology.

Ruling Party Objects, Kharge Apologizes

The Leader of the House, J.P. Nadda, deemed Kharge's statement unacceptable and demanded an apology. He stated that the Leader of the Opposition should not use such language.

Subsequently, Kharge stated, "If my words have hurt anyone, I apologize. But I will not apologize to the government."

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's Statement

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan labeled the DMK as an "undemocratic and uncultured" party. This provoked DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who considered it an insult to the people of Tamil Nadu.

She unequivocally stated that Tamil Nadu would not accept the NEP and the three-language policy at any cost.

Opposition MPs also bly objected to Pradhan's statement. Kharge responded, "If you call the people of a part of the country uncultured, it will be an attempt to break the country. The Modi government is talking about dividing the country."

Kanimozhi Files Notice Against Education Minister

DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi filed a notice against Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for breach of parliamentary privilege. She argued that Pradhan's statement was an insult not only to the DMK but also to the people of Tamil Nadu.
