Shah: Article 370 Revocation Led to Reduced Terrorism in Kashmir

Home Minister Amit Shah stated in the Rajya Sabha that after the revocation of Article 370, terrorism in Kashmir has decreased, stone-pelting has stopped, and the Tricolour is proudly hoisted at Lal Chowk.

Amit Shah: During the discussion on the functioning of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah cited Article 370 as the primary cause of separatism in Kashmir. He stated that after the revocation of Article 370, instances of terrorism in Kashmir have decreased. Stone-pelting has completely ceased, and there are no strikes. He also mentioned that no stone-pelting incidents have been recorded so far in 2024.

From Cinema Halls to International Meetings – A significant transformation in Kashmir

The Home Minister explained that the central government reopened closed cinema halls in Kashmir and successfully hosted a G-20 meeting. Furthermore, the naka permit system in Pathankot has been abolished. He stated that an Anti-Corruption Bureau has been established in Jammu and Kashmir, effectively curbing corruption. He criticized previous governments for their lax approach and lack of stringent anti-corruption laws, claiming that corruption is now virtually nonexistent.

A b stance against terrorism – Lal Chowk now echoes with the Tricolour

The Home Minister said that earlier, processions were held upon the killing of terrorists, but this no longer happens. Retaliation for the Uri attack was carried out within ten days. He explicitly stated that providing jobs to the families of terrorists has been completely stopped. Now, the Tricolour flies proudly at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, and no one is allowed to engage in anti-national activities.

Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the state police and central paramilitary forces personnel who were martyred in the service of the nation's security. He stated that these personnel made the ultimate sacrifice to strengthen the nation's internal security and borders. The Home Minister lauded their contribution, stating that it is because of them that the country is secure today and decisive control over terrorism has been achieved.
