Summer has intensified again in North India. After a few days of respite in Delhi-NCR, the weather is changing. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury will rise sharply in the coming days in several states of North India, including the capital.
Weather Update: The rain in Delhi-NCR and parts of North India provided some relief from the heat, but now intense sunshine and heat have returned. According to the meteorological department, the weather in Delhi-NCR will remain clear today and on April 14. During this period, the maximum temperature is likely to be between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 19 and 23 degrees Celsius. Cloudy conditions and light rain are predicted for several parts of the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana.
Delhi to Witness Return of Heat, Temperatures to Cross 40 Degrees
Delhi residents experienced some relief from the slightly cool winds and cloudy conditions on the morning of April 12, but this respite will be short-lived. According to the meteorological department, the sky will be completely clear on April 14, and the temperature may reach 37 to 40 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is also expected to rise above 20 degrees Celsius at night.
Signs indicate that hot winds, or loo, will begin blowing in the capital from April 15. Wind speeds may range from 20 to 30 km per hour. Between April 16 and 17, the temperature in Delhi could reach 42 degrees, resulting in a double whammy of heat and loo.
Rajasthan: From Rain to Drought and Heat
Several parts of Rajasthan received good rainfall in the past 24 hours. Bahadurpur recorded the highest rainfall at 29 mm. Nagaur, Chittorgarh, Alwar, and Hanumangarh also experienced rainfall. However, the weather in the state is now turning dry. There is no chance of rain in the next 4-5 days, and temperatures may increase by 3 to 4 degrees. In Jaisalmer, the temperature is expected to reach 45 degrees on April 15.
Weather to Become Active Again in UP, Bihar, and Northeast
The weather is set to change again in eastern India. Thunderstorms and rain are likely in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and the northeastern states on Sunday and Monday. Warnings have been issued for b winds and lightning. Farmers and those working outdoors in these areas are advised to exercise caution.
The impact of the western disturbance on northwest and central India has almost ended. With it, the recent coolness and relief are also coming to an end. Most parts of the country will now see a rapid increase in temperature, and the middle of April will be entirely under the grip of summer.
