Weather Update: Northern India is experiencing another shift in weather patterns. While Delhi-NCR saw light rain leading to pleasant weather, heavy snowfall in mountainous areas has severely disrupted daily life. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand have experienced increased cold due to snowfall and rainfall. According to the IMD, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience thunderstorms with b winds (30-40 km/h), lightning, and hail. Punjab and Uttarakhand could see heavy rainfall (up to 12 cm), while Himachal Pradesh anticipates snowfall of up to 20 cm. This continuous change in weather conditions may cause health and travel-related problems for the population.

The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall in Haryana districts including Bahadurgarh, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Jhajjar. Over 200 Roads Closed in Himachal Pradesh

Heavy snowfall and rainfall in Himachal Pradesh have severely disrupted life. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall in higher altitudes.

Kashmir Snowfall Disrupts Transportation

Heavy snowfall in Kashmir has disrupted rail, air, and road transport. Landslides and falling rocks on the Srinagar-Jammu highway have hampered vehicular movement. However, the IMD predicts some improvement in weather conditions in the coming days. The IMD advises travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel to mountainous regions. Air and road transport may also be affected due to adverse weather conditions.
