The World's Most Venomous Scorpion, Whose Venom Sells for ₹75 Crore Per Liter

The world is home to numerous venomous creatures, some so dangerous they can take a human life in seconds. You've likely heard of the world's most venomous snakes, but today we're discussing the world's most venomous scorpion. Found in Cuba, this scorpion is blue in color. It is not only dangerous but also exceptionally valuable. Its venom fetches a price of ₹75 crore per liter. This venom is used to create a medicine called 'Vidatox,' considered a miraculous cancer treatment in Cuba.

Price of the Scorpion's Venom

The venom of one liter of this most venomous scorpion is priced at approximately ₹76 crore, whereas one liter of King Cobra venom costs roughly ₹30.3 crore. The Cuban scorpion's venom is more expensive than that of the world-renowned King Cobra of Thailand, earning it the title of the world's most expensive venom. The venom of this Cuban scorpion contains over 5 million compounds, of which only a small number have been identified thus far. Understanding these compounds will significantly increase the medicinal importance of scorpion venom, potentially leading to cures for other incurable diseases. Professor Michael Gurevitz of Tel Aviv University in Israel states that the scorpion's venom is being used for various medical research and treatments.

Benefits of Scorpion Venom

The venom of these scorpions contains elements that act as pain relievers. Its venom can also potentially prevent deadly diseases like cancer, as certain components may inhibit the formation of cancerous cells.

Aid in Organ Transplantation

According to a report from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, this scorpion venom is also used in organ transplantation. Sometimes, the body rejects a newly transplanted organ. In such cases, this venom is injected into the human body, rapidly affecting the body's immune system and reducing the chances of organ rejection.

Effective in Bone Diseases

Furthermore, the venom can potentially prevent arthritis, a bone disease. It may help reduce the wear and tear on bones. In 2011, a 71-year-old Cuban man, Michael Gurevitz, claimed that self-inflicted scorpion stings eliminated all his body pain.
