Batting first, Lucknow posted 166/7 in 20 overs, thanks to captain Rishabh Pant's battling 63. Chennai chased down the target in 19.3 overs.

Pant's Half-Century Overshadowed by Dhoni's Finishing Touch

Lucknow Super Giants scored 166 runs for seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Rishabh Pant played a crucial innings of 63 runs off 42 balls, including three sixes and three fours. Despite recovering from early setbacks, Pant lacked consistent support from the other end.

Key batsmen like Adam Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and Mitchell Marsh failed to score significantly. Chennai's bowlers bowled with discipline, restricting Lucknow's scoring opportunities. Khalil Ahmed and Jadeja provided early breakthroughs, disrupting Lucknow's batting order.

Sheikh Rashid Impresses

Opening the innings for Chennai, young batsman Sheikh Rashid impressed on his debut, scoring 27 runs off 19 balls. He and Rachin Ravindra put on a 52-run partnership for the first wicket, giving Chennai a b start. However, slower batting from the middle order, including Rahul Tripathi and Vijay Shankar, slowed Chennai's momentum, making the match exciting.

Dhoni's Blitz: 26 Runs in 11 Balls

The match truly turned when MS Dhoni came to the crease. His arrival ignited the stadium, turning the atmosphere completely yellow. Dhoni immediately eased the pressure, hitting two boundaries off Avesh Khan. He then struck a magnificent six in the 17th over, solidifying Chennai's position. At the other end, Shivam Dube played a solid innings, scoring an unbeaten 38 off 35 balls. With 24 runs needed in the final two overs, Dhoni and Dube calmly guided Chennai to victory in 19.3 overs.

This was Lucknow's third defeat of the season, ending their winning streak at home. Star batsmen Adam Markram and Nicholas Pooran were particularly ineffective. Ayush Badoni, despite receiving two lifelines, also failed to make a substantial score.
