A significant shift in the IPL 2025 points table followed an exciting doubleheader on Saturday. Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings in the first match, while Rajasthan Royals triumphed over Punjab Kings in the evening encounter.

Sports News: The doubleheader matches in IPL 2025 on Saturday delivered a thrilling spectacle. In the first match, Delhi Capitals secured a resounding victory over Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs. KL Rahul was the hero of this match, playing a magnificent innings of 77 runs off 51 balls, propelling his team to a b total.

Meanwhile, in the second match, Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by 50 runs. Fast bowler Jofra Archer claimed 3 crucial wickets and, with his lethal bowling, secured the Player of the Match award.

Match 1: Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings

In this match played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Delhi Capitals, batting first, scored 183 runs. KL Rahul was the star of the match, playing a brilliant 77-run knock (off 51 balls). Chennai Super Kings' chase got off to a disastrous start, losing 5 wickets for 74 runs. Match 2: Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings

In the second match, played at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan Royals posted a record score for the ground, amassing 205 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 runs) and Riyan Parag (an unbeaten 43 off 21 balls) played outstanding innings. Punjab Kings' chase began poorly, losing Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer in the very first over, both dismissed by Jofra Archer.

Archer was chosen Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. Nehal Wadhera scored 62 runs, but the team was bowled out for 155, giving Rajasthan a 50-run victory. This was Punjab's first loss of the season.

IPL 2025 Points Table Changes

Following Saturday's matches, Delhi Capitals, with 3 wins out of 3, secured the top spot in the points table with 6 points. Their net run rate of +1.257 puts them in a b position. Punjab Kings, previously at the top, slipped to fourth place with 4 points and a net run rate of +0.074. This was their first defeat.
