A sudden change in weather conditions in Agra brought b winds and dust storms, disrupting normal life across several parts of the city. Winds blowing at nearly 70 kilometres per hour uprooted trees, damaged electricity wires and disrupted power supply in multiple areas for several hours.

Dark clouds gathered suddenly in the evening, followed by b winds that intensified within a short period. The storm forced pedestrians and motorists on roads to stop and seek safer locations, while dust-laden winds reduced visibility considerably.

The impact was most visible in busy markets and residential areas, where large trees were uprooted and fell onto roads, affecting traffic movement. In some locations, electricity poles and hoardings were also damaged.

In the Save Market area, a building wall collapsed during the storm, triggering panic in the surrounding area. Local residents informed authorities immediately. There was no large accident as the area was not crowded at the time of the incident.

Power supply was disrupted in several areas of the city due to broken wires and technical faults caused by the storm. Teams of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited remained engaged until late at night to restore electricity services.

Strong winds also created difficulties for two-wheeler riders, while some residents took shelter under shops and buildings for safety. Traffic slowed temporarily on major city roads.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the weather change occurred due to the impact of a western disturbance and pre-monsoon activity. The department has forecast continued fluctuations in weather conditions over the next few days and indicated the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in some areas.

Light rainfall was recorded in several areas after the storm, leading to a drop in temperature. People affected by intense heat and heatwave conditions over recent days experienced relief following the weather change.

Teams from the Agra Municipal Corporation began clearing fallen trees and debris from roads. Officials said affected areas were being surveyed and damage was being assessed.

Local traders said the sudden storm caused disruption in markets, forcing several shopkeepers to act quickly to secure goods. Tin sheds and temporary structures were also damaged in some locations.

Photographs and videos from different parts of the city circulated widely on social media after the storm, showing uprooted trees, fallen hoardings and dust-filled conditions.

The Agra district administration appealed to residents to exercise caution during adverse weather and avoid trees, electricity poles and weak structures during b winds and lightning.

Weather experts said similar weather conditions could be seen in several parts of Uttar Pradesh in the coming days and advised people to follow weather department warnings and take necessary precautions.
