Electric scooter 2025: At Ather Community Day 2025 held in Bengaluru, Ather Energy unveiled the updated version of its premium electric scooter, the 450 Apex, for the first time featuring the Infinity Cruise. This advanced cruise control system has been designed keeping Indian roads and traffic in mind, offering three modes: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control. With its 3.7kWh battery pack, this scooter provides a range of 157km and a top speed of 100 km/h. Its ex-showroom price is around ₹1.90 lakh, and it competes with models like the Ola S1 Pro and TVS iQube.
What is Infinity Cruise
Infinity Cruise is Ather's advanced cruise control system. It has been specifically developed keeping Indian traffic and roads in consideration. It offers three distinct modes: first is City Cruise, second is Hill Cruise, and third is Crawl Control. These three modes make riding the scooter easier in different conditions.
City Cruise
City Cruise helps maintain a consistent speed on city roads. It operates at speeds up to 90 kilometers per hour. The notable feature is that it doesn't deactivate if you apply the brakes or change speed; instead, it automatically adjusts to the new speed. This makes riding the scooter in city traffic even easier.
Hill Cruise
Hill Cruise assists in riding the scooter effortlessly on hilly terrain. It provides power support on inclines, while on descents, it utilizes a magic braking system. This is the same system that powers Ather's Magic Twist feature. Through this, the scooter maintains a constant speed using regenerative braking without requiring much effort.
Crawl Control
Crawl Control is useful on bad or rough roads. It allows the scooter to move smoothly even at low speeds like 10 kilometers per hour. It features multi-mode traction control, which helps the scooter maintain stability even on wet or slippery roads.
Battery and Range
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is equipped with a 3.7 kilowatt-hour battery pack. This battery provides a range of 157 kilometers on a full charge. Its 7-kilowatt motor produces 9.39 bhp of power and 26 Newton meters of torque. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in just 2.9 seconds. Its top speed is 100 kilometers per hour. It offers a total of five riding modes, including Wrap+.
Design and Features
The design of the Ather 450 Apex has been kept minimalistic, similar to its predecessor. It features a 7-inch TFT screen. Additionally, it includes the Google Maps navigation feature. Special attention has also been given to storage space. It offers 34 liters of underseat storage and 22 liters of frunk (front storage space).
Price and Competition
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is available in a single variant. Its ex-showroom price has been set at approximately ₹1.90 lakh. In the Indian market, it competes with electric two-wheelers such as the Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube ST, River Indie, Revolt RV400, Ultraviolette Tesseract, and Oben Rorr.
