Ayodhya, considered the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, the epitome of righteousness, is once again poised to witness a historic and religious moment. Following the grand Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, elaborate preparations have commenced for the Pran-Pratishtha of the Shri Ram Darbar. This event is not merely a religious ceremony; it is set to become a focal point of faith for millions of Ram devotees.
A Divine Ram Darbar Takes Shape in Ayodhya
Construction of the Ram Temple at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex is progressing rapidly. The first floor is now complete, where the divine forms of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman will be consecrated. This Ram Darbar will be unique not only architecturally but also imbued with devotion and reverence.
According to the trust, this event will run from June 3rd to June 5th, 2025. The entire ritual will be conducted according to Vedic traditions, with the participation of 101 Veda-pathi Acharyas (learned Vedic scholars) and 14 Yajamans (offerers). This event will be purely religious and spiritual, free from any political or VIP interference.
Why is the Pran-Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar Significant?
The Pran-Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar is considered highly significant as it upholds the tradition of establishing Lord Shri Ram as an ideal king. Through this consecration, Lord Ram is honored as a just, righteous, and virtuous ruler. It is not merely the installation of idols but a profound spiritual process that revitalizes the spirit of Ram Rajya (ideal governance). When devotees visit the Ram Darbar, they will witness not just divine forms but also a glimpse of an ideal administration dedicated to the welfare of all. This event will serve as an inspiration for both the nation and society.
Who Will Participate in This Ritual?
Vedic Acharyas from across the country have been invited to participate in this sacred Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. All religious activities will be performed according to scriptural methods. These 101 Acharyas will be joined by 14 Yajamans, ensuring the ceremony's completeness. Participants will primarily include scholars from Ayodhya, Kashi, Prayag, Haridwar, and South India.
The trust has clarified that this event will remain purely religious, with no invitations extended to VIPs. The aim is to maintain the event's spiritual essence, allowing devotees to fully immerse themselves in Ram Bhakti (devotion to Ram).
Arrangements for Darshan (viewing):
Considering the expected large number of devotees, the trust has planned a "first-come, first-served" pass system to ensure efficient and convenient darshan. This means that those who apply first will have priority access, preventing overcrowding and ensuring a peaceful darshan experience.
A limited number of passes will be available daily. These passes will be obtainable both online and offline, catering to all devotees. This arrangement will be particularly helpful for those traveling from far and wide to Ayodhya to seek the darshan of Lord Shri Ram.
Current Status of Ram Temple Construction
The main construction work of the Ram Temple is rapidly nearing completion. The ground floor, where Ram Lalla's idol is already installed, is open for devotees' darshan. The first floor, where the Ram Darbar will be established, is also almost complete.
According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the entire temple complex, including the museum, yagnasala (sacrificial hall), pilgrim accommodation, goshala (cowshed), and administrative building, will be fully completed by December 2025. This will mark the beginning of a new era of religious tourism in Ayodhya.
