Bangladesh Announces Preliminary Squad for Asia Cup 2025 with Litton Das as Captain

Sports News: The Bangladesh Cricket Team has announced its 25-member preliminary squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The squad features a great blend of youth and experienced players. This Bangladesh team has also been selected for the upcoming Asia Cup as well as the three-match T20I series against the Netherlands. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially shared this information.

Litton Das Assigned Captaincy Responsibility

The captaincy of the Bangladesh team has once again been entrusted to wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das. He is currently one of the most experienced players in the team, and under his leadership as captain, the team will try to reach new heights with young talent. The return of Nurul Hasan to the team has caught everyone's attention. On the strength of his excellent performance in domestic cricket, he has once again got the opportunity to reach the doors of the national team.

Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who could not perform impressively in the last few T20 series, has also been retained in the squad, which is an important step towards maintaining the team's experience and balance.

Camp from August 6, Netherlands Series from August 30

The BCB has informed that all available players will report to SBNCS, Mirpur on August 6. Skill practice sessions will start from August 15, while a special camp will be organized in Sylhet from August 20. After this, the Bangladesh team will play a three-match T20 series against the Netherlands on August 30, September 1 and September 3.

The Asia Cup 2025 is being organized in the UAE and Bangladesh has been placed in Group B. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are also included in this group. The Bangladesh team will play all its group stage matches at the Abu Dhabi ground.
