Bhojpuri Actor Pawan Singh Booked for Fraud and Criminal Intimidation

Fraud Case Registered Against Bhojpuri Actor Pawan Singh and Three Others. Investor Vishal Singh alleged that Pawan Singh threatened to kill him. The court has ordered the police to investigate.

Fraud Case: A case has been registered against four people, including popular Bhojpuri film industry actor and singer Pawan Singh, in Varanasi on charges of fraud and other offenses. The case was filed following a complaint by businessman Vishal Singh. Vishal alleged that he was duped in the name of film production and that Pawan Singh also threatened to kill him when he demanded his share.

When and How the Case Came to Light

Shiva Kant Mishra, Station House Officer of Cantt police station in Varanasi, stated that the case was registered on Wednesday on the court's order. Vishal Singh's lawyer, Ashish Singh, informed that the matter pertains to 2017-2018. In 2017, Vishal Singh met film director Prem Shankar Rai in Mumbai. Following this, he received proposals to meet several people and invest in the making of a film.

Vishal Singh, with the help of his lawyer, explained that he was defrauded in the name of investing in the film ‘Boss’ (2018). During this period, Pawan Singh and others persuaded him to invest in film production and promised him a share of the profits.

Allegations Against Pawan Singh and Three Others

Ashish Singh stated that a total of Rs 32.60 lakh was deposited from Vishal Singh and his brother's company into various accounts. Subsequently, in July 2018, Vishal was declared the producer of the film and promised a 50 percent profit share. Following this, he invested an additional Rs 1.25 crore in the film's production.

However, even after the film's release, the investor was not given his share of the profits. The lawyer further stated that the investor repeatedly tried to claim his share, but Pawan Singh threatened to kill him over the matter.

Police Register Case

Vishal Singh had lodged a complaint with the Cantt police station and the Police Commissioner regarding this matter. The victim alleged that the police did not take the case seriously. Subsequently, he approached the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (Second).

After hearing the case, the court ordered the Cantt police to register a fraud case against Pawan Singh and three other individuals. The police are now investigating the matter, and statements from all parties involved will be taken.

Pawan Singh recently launched a new song, in which he collaborated with a Haryanvi actress. Some controversy also arose during the event related to this, which was reported in the media. While this controversy has no direct connection to the legal action against Pawan Singh, it did impact his image. Pawan Singh has a substantial fan following in the Bhojpuri industry, but such legal cases can affect his career and public image.

Legal Aspects of Fraud

Under Indian law, taking money in the name of investment and failing to provide a share of profits to any person is considered fraud. If an investor is threatened, the offense becomes more serious. The court's order in this case ensures that the police thoroughly investigate the matter and take statements from all accused.
