Bihar Elections 2025: BJP MLA Arun Sinha Opts Out, Paving Way for New Leadership in Kumhrar

BJP's first list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections is expected to be released soon. However, even before this, BJP MLA Arun Sinha from Patna's Kumhrar constituency has announced that he will not contest the elections.

Patna: In view of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the BJP has received a significant political message even before its first list of candidates is released. Arun Kumar Sinha, the ruling BJP MLA from Patna's Kumhrar assembly constituency, has announced that he will not contest this election. However, he also clarified that he will continue to work actively for the organization and remain associated with the party.

MLA Arun Sinha conveyed his decision via social media. In his X (formerly Twitter) post, he wrote, “I will not contest the upcoming assembly elections as a candidate, but I will continue to work for the organization. I will always be grateful for the trust and support you all have given me over the past 25 years. The worker is supreme, the organization is supreme.”

Impact of Seat Sharing and New Strategy

According to sources, seat sharing in the NDA alliance has been finalized, and the list of candidates will be announced soon. Arun Sinha's name was previously among the potential candidates, but this decision was made as part of the party's strategy to give opportunities to new and younger leaders. For this reason, senior MLA Arun Sinha decided to withdraw his candidature.

Discussions within the BJP had been ongoing for some time that the new generation would be prioritized this time. Consequently, there was a possibility of revisions to the tickets of several senior leaders. Arun Sinha's decision not to contest the election is considered part of this strategy.

Arun Sinha's Dominance in Kumhrar Constituency

The Kumhrar assembly constituency is considered a traditional bhold of the BJP. Arun Kumar Sinha has won this seat multiple times consecutively and played a crucial role in advancing several significant development projects in Patna city during his tenure. Within the party, he is known as a disciplined, honest, and organization-oriented leader.

Sinha stated in his statement that the party and its workers are supreme. He accepted the party's decision with full loyalty and appealed to his supporters to maintain faith in the leadership of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
