Chanda (Sultanpur) — Tragedy struck that afternoon when a mother and son set out on a bike to get medicine. But their journey remained incomplete. Right below the Pratap pur Kamaicha overbridge, a truck coming from Varanasi mercilessly crushed their bike.
The road accident devastated a family. Last night, while going towards Chanda market, a mother died, while her son is fighting for his life.
The incident unfolded as follows — Mother Amravati Devi and her son Tribhuvan had set out on a bike to get medicine. On the way, near the overbridge below Pratap pur Kamaicha village, a truck coming from Varanasi collided with their motorcycle.
Both fell onto the road. With the help of local residents, they were taken to the nearest community health center.
Doctors declared Amravati Devi dead, while given Tribhuvan's critical condition, he was referred to a medical college.
After the accident, the truck driver fled from the scene. Police are actively searching for him.
