The Bihar government will conduct a state-wide Revenue Mega Campaign from August 16 to September 20 to rectify errors in land documents. Jamabandi (Record of Rights) corrections, mutations, and digitization work will be prioritized in the camps.
Bihar: The Bihar government has decided to launch a special state-wide Revenue Mega Campaign to address land-related disputes and errors in documents. This mega campaign will run from August 16 to September 20, 2025, with the aim of providing relief to the public by resolving issues related to land ownership.
Why This Campaign Is Necessary
Land disputes have been a common problem in Bihar. People often have to make repeated visits to offices for months in matters such as mutation, Jamabandi errors, and partition. Considering these problems, the Bihar government has taken this decision so that all land-related documents can be digital and accurate.
Jamabandi Error Correction and Mutation Will Be Primary Tasks
During this mega campaign, the government's main focus will be on Jamabandi error correction, successor mutation, partition mutation, and digitization (Online Entry) of missing Jamabandis. District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Choudhary stated that all these tasks will be carried out to provide transparent, simple, and prompt service to the public.
Solution Will Be Available in Revenue Camps
From August 16, special revenue camps will be set up in each Halka (revenue circle) area of the district. Each camp will have revenue employees and 10 survey Ameens present. All these people will receive online applications from the public and upload the related application to the system.
Each camp will be re-established at the same location after an interval of one week so that pending applications can be reviewed again and people's problems can be resolved quickly.
Implementation Will Be in Three Phases
The Revenue Mega Campaign will be conducted in three main phases:
- Pre-Preparation Phase: In which employees will be trained at the block level and all necessary documents will be scrutinized.
- Main Implementation Phase: This will involve the organization of camps and the receipt of applications from the public.
- Follow-up Work: This will include reviewing pending cases, execution, and re-organization of camps.
The Public Will Get These Benefits
- Errors in land documents will be corrected on time.
- Cases related to mutation and Jamabandi will be settled quickly.
- Corruption will be curbed through a transparent and digital process.
- People will get relief from getting service at the local level.
Revenue Personnel Are Getting Special Training
For the success of this campaign, district-level and block-level revenue personnel are being trained. Revenue employees and survey Ameens will be trained in all blocks by August 7. After this, from August 16 to 19, the cultivators will be given a print of the online Jamabandi register and three types of forms.
Technical Infrastructure of the Revenue Department Is Also Ready
Technical aspects have also been taken care of in this mega campaign. All revenue employees have been instructed to work with laptops so that the application and execution process can be completely digitized.
Major Preparations Begin in Several Districts
Administrative preparations for the Revenue Mega Campaign have been accelerated in many districts, including Bhagalpur. A district-level training session was organized in the review building, in which key officials such as the Deputy Development Commissioner, Additional Collector, District Settlement Officer, Kanoongo, and Circle Officer were present.
