In Bijapur, Naxals strangled BJP worker Satyam Punem to death. A leaflet was found near the body, accusing Satyam of providing information to the police about Naxals, and the Madder Area Committee claimed responsibility.

Bijapur: In Mujalkanker village, under Ilmidi police station area of Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, suspected Naxals strangled BJP mandal worker Satyam Punem with a rope. Police officials stated that upon receiving information about the incident, which occurred on Monday night, a police team immediately reached the spot and initiated an investigation.

Satyam Punem was a local BJP worker and had been actively working for the party for a long time. This murder has become a major cause for concern for local politics and the security situation. Given the seriousness of the incident, the police have increased investigations and security across the entire area.

Naxals Claim Responsibility for Murder

A leaflet was recovered near Satyam's body, in which the Naxal's Madder Area Committee claimed responsibility for his murder. The leaflet alleged that Satyam used to provide information related to Naxals to the police and had been repeatedly warned.

The leaflet also stated that this harsh step was taken due to Satyam's alleged cooperation and informing. This incident clarifies that Naxal organizations are still active in the area and are resorting to violence to maintain their influence.

Rising Graph of Maoist Violence

In the seven districts of Bijapur and Bastar division, approximately 40 people have died in Maoist violence so far this year. Between January 2023 and December 2024, 11 BJP leaders have been murdered in separate incidents in these districts.

This figure indicates that Maoist violence is continuously increasing, posing a serious security threat to political workers in the area. The local administration has intensified investigations and surveillance in the case of Satyam Punem's murder.

Police Engaged in Identifying Naxals and Forensic Investigation

Police stated that based on the leaflet found near the deceased's body and other clues, suspected Naxals are being identified. Forensic examination of the crime scene, statements from local witnesses, and monitoring of suspicious activities in the area are underway.
