Bhopal: Late Saturday evening, delivery boys of the online grocery company Blinkit created a ruckus in Danish Hills Colony of the Kolar area. A payment dispute during a parcel delivery at BJP leader Harshit Guru's house escalated so much that about a dozen delivery boys returned, armed with sticks, and attacked the house.
During this incident, house helpers were brutally beaten, and allegations of misbehavior with some women of the colony have also surfaced. Upon learning of the incident, colony residents sought help from the police.
Payment Dispute at Harshit Guru's House
According to the police, the incident occurred at Harshit Guru's residence in Danish Hills Colony. A delivery boy arrived at the house with a parcel, but a dispute over payment began.
Harshit Guru's wife offered to pay a partial amount in cash and the remainder online, but the delivery boy insisted on receiving the full amount through a single medium. As the argument escalated, house helpers escorted him out. This dispute subsequently turned into a violent incident.
Delivery Boys Attacked with Sticks
After being turned away from the house, the delivery boy went to his center and gathered about a dozen colleagues. All of them returned to the colony armed with sticks and directly attacked Harshit Guru's house.
The delivery boys caught the helpers outside the house and brutally beat them. After verbal abuse and assault, all the accused fled the scene. According to local reports, women of the colony were also assaulted and misbehaved with during this incident.
Entire Incident Captured on CCTV Footage
On Sunday, CCTV footage of the incident emerged, clearly showing the actions of the delivery boys. The footage distinctly shows how they created a disturbance in the colony, armed with sticks.
Based on this footage, the police have registered an FIR against unknown accused under sections for assault, intimidation, and verbal abuse. Currently, no arrests have been made, but the search for the accused is ongoing.
Police Initiated Action for Arrest of Accused
Police from Kolar station stated that based on CCTV footage and complaints from colony residents, efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused. Police have appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious activities.
