Businessman Robbed of ₹30 Lakh in Daylight Attack in Jamshedpur

Businessman Saket Agiwal was robbed of ₹30 lakh in broad daylight in the Bistupur Gurudwara area of Jamshedpur. The criminals carried out the incident by throwing chili powder in his eyes. Police have started a search based on CCTV footage.

Jamshedpur: A major daylight robbery took place in the industrial city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Thursday. Businessman Saket Agarwal was robbed of approximately ₹30 lakh in the Bistupur Gurudwara area of the city. Saket was on his way to deposit money in the bank when criminals attempted to shoot him. Fortunately, he escaped unhurt.

This incident highlights the rising crime rate in the city and has created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among traders as well as local residents.

Clever Robbery Occurred While Going to the Bank on a Scooter

According to information, Saket Agarwal runs a Hindustan Unilever agency and was going to the bank on his scooter. As he moved past the Bistupur Gurudwara area, an Innova car parked by the roadside stopped in front of his scooter.

Following this, two criminals alighted from the car and directly threw red chili powder into Saket's eyes. They then snatched the bag full of money and sped away in the Innova car. This incident sent a wave of shock throughout the area.

Police Begin Investigation of CCTV Footage and Area

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Bistupur police station immediately cordoned off the area. City SP Kumar Shivashish and senior officials reached the spot and assessed the gravity of the situation.

The police have started scrutinizing the footage from all nearby CCTV cameras to identify the criminals and ensure their swift arrest. The SP said, "The matter is being investigated with seriousness. The police are working on every angle and the criminals will be apprehended soon."

MLA Saryu Rai Reaches the Scene

Saryu Rai, MLA from Jamshedpur West, also reached the crime scene. He expressed serious concern over the rising crime rate and the security arrangements in the city.

Local traders and citizens are saying that criminals are now fearlessly carrying out major incidents in busy areas. Ensuring the safety of traders and common people has become challenging in such circumstances.

Continuously Increasing Criminal Incidents and Previous Robbery Information

Just a day before this incident, on Wednesday, armed criminals carried out a major robbery at Vardhman Jewellers in the Sonari police station area. Six criminals entered the shop disguised as customers and held the owner, Pankaj Jain, hostage.

They looted a large quantity of ornaments and jewelry and, upon resistance, attacked Pankaj Jain on the head with the butt of a pistol, leaving him seriously injured. These continuously increasing incidents highlight the seriousness of the security system in the city.
