The investigation has made it clear that the murder conspiracy was hatched in Purulia Jail, West Bengal. Notorious gangster Sheru Singh, who is imprisoned there, gave the contract for this murder to his old associate, Tausif. It is reported that Sheru and Tausif became friends in Patna's Beur Jail when they were both incarcerated there together.
Planning and Communication Were Happening from Jail
According to police sources, Sheru Singh directed his associates from jail using phones and other means. To confirm this, the mobile phones, call records, and WhatsApp chats of all the accused are being investigated. Initial information has revealed that the entire plan was made from inside the jail, and the henchmen outside were activated.
Gangsters Have Been Active Before
Notably, the premises in Newtown, Kolkata, from where the accused were arrested, was the same location where two notorious gangsters from Punjab were encountered on June 9, 2021. This makes it clear that this area is becoming a major hub for criminal activities.

Patna Police and STF are considering this entire matter to be an organized gang war and criminal conspiracy. STF officials say that all the arrested accused are associated with the Sheru Singh gang and are being constantly interrogated. Cooperation is also being sought from agencies in other states for further action.
