The appointment of the next Chief Secretary in Chhattisgarh has been postponed. BJP and Congress are formulating their strategies before the monsoon session. Top leaders of both parties will tour the state. The political atmosphere is heating up.
Chhattisgarh Politics: The appointment of the Chief Secretary in Chhattisgarh has been postponed for now. Meanwhile, the government is gearing up for the monsoon session. Both the BJP and the Congress are engaged in major strategic preparations in the state. In the next few days, prominent leaders like JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Mallikarjun Kharge, and KC Venugopal will be on a Chhattisgarh tour. Thus, the political temperature is at its peak before the assembly session.
Chief Secretary Appointment Postponed by Three Months
The state government has extended the term of the current Chief Secretary, Amitabh Jain, by three months. He was given an extension after his formal farewell on June 30th. Subrat Sahu, Manoj Pingua, and Amit Agarwal were among the names being discussed as his successors. However, the decision was postponed after indications from the central government even before the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
This is the first time in the state's 25-year history that the term of the Chief Secretary has been extended by three months. Similarly, Arun Dev Gautam has been serving as the acting DGP since February. The opposition is accusing the government of indecisiveness regarding this situation.
Congress's Strategy: Attacks Focused on Farmers, Soldiers, and the Constitution
The Congress leadership is trying to bring unity to encircle the ruling BJP in the state. The party has strategized to hold special meetings focusing on issues related to farmers, soldiers, and the Constitution. The party's target will be directly towards the central government.
Congress spokespersons have indicated that issues such as law and order, women's safety, tribal rights, and farmers' problems will be raised in the monsoon session. The Congress will also discuss Maoism and industrial development in the Bastar region.
However, differences within the Congress have also come to light. In a recent meeting, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel accused state Congress President Deepak Baij and Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant of not adopting an aggressive stance against the BJP. In response, Dr. Mahant said that he would arrive at the assembly with a lathi (staff) during the monsoon session.
BJP's Strategic Training Camp
Meanwhile, the BJP has organized a three-day training camp in Mainpat, Sarguja, for its MLAs and MPs. National President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at this camp.
At the camp, the public representatives will be taught how to define their role in the development of Chhattisgarh and how to implement the policies of the central government on the ground. Furthermore, there will be deliberations on the centenary year of the RSS and the silver jubilee year of the state.
Education Department's Decision Makes Headlines
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, as the Education Minister, recently made a major decision. More than 13,000 teachers have been transferred to around four hundred teacherless schools and five thousand one-teacher schools in the state. This is an effort to improve the learning environment in the schools.
This step could prove helpful in building a positive image of the government. It is also a signal for ministers of other departments that there is a need to change the responsibilities of officers and employees who have been posted at the same place for a long time. These issues may become topics of discussion in the upcoming elections.
