CM Mohan Yadav's Convoy Stalled in Ratlam Due to Water-Contaminated Diesel

In Ratlam, 19 vehicles in CM Mohan Yadav's convoy suddenly stopped due to water contamination in the diesel. The administration sealed the petrol pump in question and arranged for new vehicles from Indore.

MP News: In Ratlam, 19 vehicles in Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's convoy suddenly stopped after refueling with diesel from a petrol pump. An investigation revealed that the diesel contained a significant amount of water. The administration acted swiftly, immediately sealing the petrol pump and arranging alternative vehicles from Indore to ensure the CM's schedule was not disrupted. This incident is considered a serious security lapse.

Convoy Vehicles Stalled Due to Water in Diesel

The incident occurred on Thursday night when Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was en route to attend the MP Rise Conclave (Regional Industry, Skill and Employment Conclave) held in Ratlam. Diesel was filled in the vehicles of his convoy from the Shakti Fuels petrol pump, a Bharat Petroleum outlet located in Dosi Gaon, Ratlam district. Shortly after, 19 vehicles stopped one after another. This sight caused a stir within the administration.

Serious Revelation in Investigation

Upon receiving the information, administrative officials, including Naib Tehsildar Ashish Upadhyay and Food and Supply Officer Anand Gore, reached the spot. During the investigation, it was found that approximately 10 liters of water was present in the vehicles that had been filled with about 20 liters of diesel. This was the situation in almost all the affected vehicles.

Another case also came to light where a truck driver, after filling 200 liters of diesel from the same pump, also had his vehicle stop a short distance away. This is a clear indication of a large amount of water contamination in the diesel.

Administration Seals Pump, Sends Report

Based on the investigation, the Food and Supply Department immediately sealed the petrol pump. This petrol pump, named Shakti Fuels, is owned by Shakti, wife of HR Bundela, a resident of Indore. Shridhar, the regional manager of Bharat Petroleum, was also called to the spot. He suggested the possibility of water leakage into the tank due to heavy rainfall. For now, the administration has sent a detailed report of the entire matter to senior officials.

New Vehicles Sent from Indore

To ensure there were no disruptions to the Chief Minister's program, the administration immediately arranged for alternative vehicles from Indore and sent them to Ratlam. All necessary arrangements were made for the MP Rise Conclave scheduled for Friday.

As several VIPs were also expected to attend the CM's program, this incident is considered extremely sensitive from a security perspective. The police and district administration had already made extensive security arrangements for Friday's event.

Rainfall a Potential Cause

Naib Tehsildar Ashish Upadhyay, in conversation with the media, said that initially, rainfall is being considered the reason for the contamination. The possibility of water leaking into the petrol tank due to rain was suggested. However, a thorough investigation is underway, and samples taken from the petrol pump will be sent to a laboratory.
