President Droupadi Murmu has assigned the additional charge of the Governor of Maharashtra to Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat. Acharya Devvrat will handle the affairs of Maharashtra in addition to his current duties.
Secured a Lead of 152 Votes in the Vice Presidential Election
C.P. Radhakrishnan registered a victory as the NDA candidate in the Vice Presidential election held on Tuesday. He received a total of 452 votes, while the joint opposition candidate B. Sudharshan Reddy received 300 votes. Thus, Radhakrishnan won by a margin of 152 votes. The announcement of this victory was made by the Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, P.C. Modi.
The electoral college comprising members of both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha participated in this election. With Radhakrishnan's victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its alliance defeated the opposition by a significant margin.
