Delhi CM Opens New Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Digitizes Health Services

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the opening of over 1100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. She stated that 9.3 million health cards have been issued and health services are being digitized.

Delhi News: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a significant step towards strengthening the capital's health infrastructure. On Thursday, she inaugurated 34 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMS) and announced plans to launch over 1100 Arogya Kendras by March 2026. She also claimed that over 9.3 million health cards have been issued, which are proving helpful in connecting Delhi residents with better health facilities.

The Chief Minister said that Delhi is continuously receiving the "Ayushman Bhav" blessing. She also clarified that the government's goal is not only to expand health services but also to make the entire system digital and accessible.

Benefits of Digital Health Card and Ayushman Yojana

Rekha Gupta stated that so far, 9.3 million citizens have been issued Health ID cards (also known as Ayushman cards or ABHA cards). These cards ensure easy access to health services on a digital platform. She mentioned that over 400,000 people have registered under the Ayushman Yojana, and more than 2,000 of them have already benefited from these services.

3 Lakh Cards Issued Under PM Vay Vandana Yojana

The Chief Minister also informed that approximately 300,000 cards have been issued under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana (PMVVY). The aim of this scheme is to provide financial and health security to senior citizens. She said that Delhi is rapidly moving towards becoming a Healthy City.

Announcement of 150 Dialysis Centers and MRI Facilities

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the state government has started 150 dialysis centers so far. She said that their number will be increased further if needed. Additionally, MRI and other advanced diagnostic facilities will also be started soon, which will provide citizens with better health check-up facilities.

Health Minister's Statement

On this occasion, Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said that starting 34 new AAMS is a major step by the government towards delivering health services to every household. He stated that the process of filling vacant posts in the health sector has begun. This will not only improve the quality of services but also reduce unemployment.

Targeting the Former AAP Government

Both the Chief Minister and the Health Minister targeted the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, saying that Delhi's health services had deteriorated continuously during their tenure. The new government is now working rapidly to improve that infrastructure.

New Centers at MCD Sites

Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that 75 additional health centers (AAMS) will be dedicated to the general public by the end of August. For this, 429 sites of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have been identified, out of which 98 sites have also received No-Objection Certificates (NOCs).

Digital and Accessible Healthcare System

Rekha Gupta also said that her government's objective is not just to build hospitals but to connect the entire healthcare system with technology. Services like digital health records, e-health cards, and telemedicine will make the lives of common people easier in the future. This will make healthcare not just limited to treatment but will create a b system of prevention, timely identification, and management.

What is Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAMS)?

AAMS, or Ayushman Arogya Mandir, are part of the government's scheme to provide primary healthcare facilities at the local level. These centers arrange for health check-ups, consultations, medicine distribution, and referrals to larger hospitals for those in need. They are being equipped with modern technology so that patients' medical history can be securely stored in digital form.

How Citizens Will Benefit

These schemes will directly benefit those citizens who have been deprived of proper treatment so far due to the expensive services of private hospitals. The Ayushman card will reduce the cost of treatment. With the help of the digital health card, there will be no need for repeated tests, as all records will be available online. Also, having Arogya Mandirs nearby will save both travel time and expenses.
