The Delhi government will construct a 20-kilometer-long elevated road from Inderlok to Bawana on the Munak Canal. This project, estimated to cost three thousand crore rupees, will directly benefit 18 assembly constituencies and 2 parliamentary constituencies.
Delhi News: A major initiative is underway to strengthen Delhi's transport infrastructure. An approximately 20-kilometer-long elevated road will be built from Inderlok to Bawana over the Munak Canal. The Delhi government has given the green light to this project, and its detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared in the next three months.
Elevated Road to be Built at a Cost of Three Thousand Crore Rupees
Delhi's PWD Minister Pravesh Verma informed that the project will cost approximately 3000 crore rupees. This elevated corridor will be constructed in collaboration with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Under this project, the Delhi government will handle funding, boundary cleaning, and other administrative responsibilities. The Haryana government will be involved only under deposit work, for which the Delhi government has sought an NOC.
18 Assembly Constituencies to Benefit Directly
This elevated road will directly connect 18 assembly constituencies, 2 parliamentary constituencies, and 35 wards of Delhi. Upon completion of this corridor, millions of people will be relieved from traffic jams daily. This road will not only make travel easier but will also prove to be a great support for people traveling to and from the outer areas of Delhi.
Benefits in Security and Crime Control Also Expected
The Delhi government believes that the construction of this elevated road will not only improve traffic facilities but also reduce crime incidents. Safe and smooth roads are considered helpful in controlling criminal activities in urban areas.
Agreement Reached Between Chief Minister and Minister
In an important meeting between Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Water Minister Pravesh Verma, this elevated road project was approved on a priority basis. The Chief Minister described this project as very important for the development of Delhi.
Expected Completion in Three Years
The PWD Minister stated that it will take approximately three years to complete this project. After the DPR is prepared, all formal procedures will be completed, and construction work will begin. The project will be continuously monitored so that the work is completed on time and citizens can benefit from it soon.
NOC Sought from Haryana Government
The elevated road is to be built on the Munak Canal, which is adjacent to the Haryana border. Therefore, the Delhi government has sought formal permission (NOC) from the Haryana government so that there is no legal or administrative hurdle in the construction work. The Haryana government has currently adopted a positive attitude and has agreed to cooperate under deposit work.
Relief in Reducing Traffic Pressure
Traffic pressure in Delhi is constantly increasing. Traffic jams are a common problem, especially in the north-western and outer Delhi regions. This elevated road, to be built on the Munak Canal, will facilitate the movement of vehicles in this area and give a new direction to Delhi's infrastructure.
