Delhi Police Lathi-Charge Protesting Students, AAP Condemns Action

Delhi Police used batons to disperse students protesting alleged irregularities in the SSC examination at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leaders accused the central government and Delhi Police of suppressing the students' voice and crushing democracy. The students are demanding justice and reforms.

New Delhi: Delhi Police lathi-charged students protesting at Ramlila Maidan against alleged irregularities in the SSC examination. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that instead of listening to the students' voices, they were met with batons. He wrote on social media that the voices of those asking questions are being suppressed, and anyone can be jailed whenever they want.

Kejriwal said that the hands that should have been holding books yesterday now bear the marks of injury. The media was prevented from covering the news, and this is an example of open hooliganism in the country.

SSC Examination and Student-Youth Movement

AAP Delhi State Convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj said that SSC students have been fighting for justice for many months. The police attacked students and teachers peacefully protesting at Ramlila Maidan in the dark. Students recorded the events using their phone lights, which are going viral on social media.

Bharadwaj stated that the youth of the country, including girls, boys, and teachers, work hard and hope for government jobs, but their rights are being snatched away due to rigging and collusion. Organized corruption in examinations like SSC and NEET has harmed deserving students.

Accusations Against BJP Government and Delhi Police

Manish Sisodia said that the central government is lagging behind in providing employment to the youth but is at the forefront when it comes to lathi-charging them. Leader of the Opposition Atishi said that students and teachers were dragged and beaten on the ground at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. She criticized this, calling it a suppression of democracy.

Saurabh Bharadwaj also cited examples from the past 10-11 years in which traders, doctors, lawyers, soldiers, and ordinary people took to the streets to demand their rights but were beaten by the police. He says that this system is working to suppress the voice of the youth and the general public.
