Bomb threats have been emailed to 10 schools and one college in Delhi over three days. Security agencies have intensified their investigation; no suspicious items have been found so far.
Bomb Threat: Bomb threats targeting Delhi schools have caused concern among parents, students, and the administration. Over the past three days, 10 schools and one college in the capital have received bomb warnings via email. However, no suspicious items have been recovered from any location yet. Security agencies are taking the entire matter seriously and are engaged in investigations.
Threatening emails received by five schools on Wednesday
On Wednesday morning, five prestigious schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails. The schools that received these emails include St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mothers International School in Hauz Khas, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate. Upon receiving the emails, school administrations immediately informed the police and evacuated the students to safety.
Swift action by security agencies
As soon as the emails were received, teams from the Delhi Police, the bomb disposal squad, and the fire department arrived at the concerned schools. In the interest of safety, the entire premises were evacuated, and thorough search operations were conducted. Every corner was checked with the help of dog squads. However, no explosives or suspicious items have been found in any of the school premises so far.
10 schools and one college targeted in three days
The bomb threats in Delhi began on Monday. On July 15, Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri and CRPF School in Dwarka received threatening emails. Following this, St. Stephen's College and, once again, St. Thomas School in Dwarka were also threatened on Tuesday. Now, five new schools have been targeted on Wednesday.
Police find no clues, considering it a hoax
The police have not found any solid clues in the investigations so far. Nothing like a bomb or explosives has been found in any school or college. After initial investigations, the police are considering it a 'hoax', but while disregarding no suspicion, they are continuing to investigate each case thoroughly. The police are trying to identify the sender of the email through technical analysis.
Fear among parents and the challenge for the administration
Due to the constant threats, there is an atmosphere of fear and concern among parents. Many parents have stopped sending their children to school for some time. Meanwhile, the school administration has also become vigilant about security arrangements. Evacuating schools after each email, ensuring the safety of children, and closing schools until the investigation is complete has become a major challenge at the administrative level.
Agencies investigating the language and pattern of the emails
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police, the Cyber Crime Team, and intelligence agencies are now engaged in a detailed investigation of this matter. The language, time, and IP address of the email sender are being tracked to find out the actual source of the email. Experts believe that this could be the work of a cybercrime gang or a mentally unstable person who wants to spread fear and chaos in society.
Instructions to increase security in schools
The Delhi government and the education department have instructed all schools to strengthen their security arrangements. Each school has been advised to review the status of CCTV cameras, conduct emergency response drills, and maintain coordination with the police. Permanent security guards and equipment such as metal detectors are also being installed in some schools.
