Prayagraj: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a significant step in a money laundering case, seizing six immovable properties linked to an associate of Mukhtar Ansari. The action involves assets with a total value of approximately ₹2.03 crore.

These properties are registered in the names of Shadab Ahmed and his wife, who are considered close associates of Mukhtar Ansari. The ED investigation revealed that Shadab used funds obtained illegally through Mukhtar Ansari’s firm to purchase the properties.

The investigation also revealed that Shadab Ahmed had been absconding since 2022. He was detained at Lucknow Airport upon arrival from Sharjah and subsequently sent to judicial custody by the court. During interrogation, the ED team found that Shadab Ahmed played a key role in concealing funds and carrying out fraudulent activities.

This is the fourth attachment order issued by the ED, and assets worth crores of rupees have been seized in the case so far. The investigation is still ongoing.
