England U19 Extends Lead Against India U19 in Second Youth Test

The third day of the second Youth Test match between India and England Under-19 cricket teams has concluded. By the end of the third day, England has secured a b lead of 123 runs against India.

ENGU19 vs INDU19 Youth Test: The third day of the second Youth Test match between the India and England Under-19 teams was full of excitement and competition. While young Indian batsman Vihan Malhotra rescued the team with a brilliant century (120 runs), England's fast bowler, Raifei Elbert, troubled the Indian batsmen by taking 6 wickets. Following this, the English openers batted excellently without losing a wicket, giving their team a crucial lead of 123 runs.

India Showed Resilience in Batting

India resumed their first innings on the third day from a score of 51/1. Captain Ayush Mhatre (80 runs) and Vihan Malhotra (120 runs) batted patiently and aggressively, building a partnership of 133 runs for the second wicket. This partnership stabilized the Indian innings and dealt an initial blow to the England bowling attack. Mhatre was clean bowled by Alex French, breaking the partnership, after which Raifei Elbert's storm hit the field.

English fast bowler Raifei Elbert demolished the Indian middle order with his swing and accurate length. He sent four consecutive batsmen – Abhigyan Kundu, Rahul Kumar, IS Ambarish, and Henil Patel – back to the pavilion without scoring. Elbert's bowling figures were 16 overs, 3 maidens, 53 runs for 6 wickets. Among the other bowlers, Ben Mayes (2 wickets), Alex French and Alex Green (1 wicket each). However, Harvarsh Pangalia (28) and Kanishk Chauhan (23) played useful innings to take India to 279 runs.

England Gained a First Innings Lead of 30 Runs

England scored 309 runs in their first innings, compared to which India were all out for 279. Thus, the host England gained a first-innings lead of 30 runs. After the first innings lead, England's opening batsmen – Adam Thomas and BJ Dawkins – batted with great restraint and effectiveness. Both batsmen added 93 runs in 25 overs without losing a wicket until stumps on the third day. Now, England's total lead is 123 runs, and with all their wickets remaining, their position is considered very b.
