Fake Paan Masala Factory Busted in Delhi, Owner Arrested

A factory manufacturing fake paan masala was busted in the Bhalswa Dairy area of Delhi. Police arrested the owner, Vishal, and seized machines, packaging material, and branded pouches.

New Delhi: In the Bhalswa Dairy area of Outer North Delhi district, the police have busted a pouch factory producing gutkha, paan masala, and khaini under the name of a branded company. The police registered an FIR based on a complaint, seized the recovered goods, and arrested the alleged owner of the factory. This factory was operating secretly in a residential house, but it was exposed due to the vigilance of a Kanpur-based company and the action of the DIU team.

Fake Paan Masala Factory Busted in Kanpur

Kamal Kant & Company Private Limited, based in Kanpur, reported the fake manufacturing of their branded paan masala. The company entrusted its authorized surveillance agency, Brewster Investigation Company's Siddharth Gaur, with the task of monitoring the market situation and preparing a report on irregularities. Siddharth Gaur informed the DIU about the production of fake pouches of several brands like Kamla Pasand Paan Masala, Shikhar Paan Masala, and Vimal Paan Masala in the Bhalswa Dairy area.

The DIU raided the premises on September 9. During the search of the factory, machines, packaging material, finished pouches, and other raw materials were recovered. Police officials stated that the recovered items included 32 kg of Kamla Pasand packing boxes, 38 kg of Kamala packing boxes, 37 kg of Kamla Pasand pouches, and 5 rolls of Shikhar Zarda pouches.

Arrest of Factory Owner

The police identified the factory owner as 36-year-old Vishal, a resident of Mukundpur, Janta Vihar. During interrogation, Vishal confessed to his involvement. The police are currently questioning him to ascertain how long the factory had been operational and who else was involved in this business.

DIU officials stated that Vishal had used machinery, pouches, and packaging material necessary for manufacturing fake paan masala and khaini. His motive was to earn substantial profits by selling counterfeit products of branded paan masalas in the market.

Threat of Counterfeit Products

According to experts, fake paan masala and gutkha are not only harmful to consumers' health but also damage the business and consumer trust of branded companies. Counterfeit products often contain harmful chemicals and illicit substances, which can lead to serious illnesses in the long run.

Police officials appealed to the public to purchase paan masala, gutkha, and khaini only from certified and licensed vendors. They urged consumers to avoid using any suspicious or unauthorized products and to immediately inform the police if they come across any such activities.

Vigilance of Kanpur Company

Kamal Kant & Company Private Limited demonstrated vigilance in this matter and took immediate action through Brewster Investigation Company. The company had authorized its representative to monitor the market to protect its brand. This step highlights the importance of vigilance against counterfeit goods and ensuring the secure distribution of branded products.
