On Tuesday afternoon, a young woman died after falling into a pond. According to preliminary information from locals and the police, the incident occurred after an argument and physical altercation during a conversation with her fiancé. The deceased's family has accused the fiancé of intentional murder. Police have taken the fiancé into custody and initiated a detailed investigation into the matter.
Sequence of Events
Moni (daughter of the late Arjun), a resident of Tehsa village, was engaged to Aman, a resident of Ayodhya. Even after their engagement was fixed, they often met. On the day of the incident, Moni had gone out of her house to cut fodder, when Aman also arrived at the same spot. During their conversation, they reached the pond's edge, and an argument ensued. It is alleged that Aman attacked Moni with kicks and punches. During this, she lost her balance and fell into the deep pond.
While drowning in the pond, Moni called for help, but it was already too late. Nearby residents arrived upon hearing her cries, but she could not be saved due to drowning. Police retrieved the body from the pond using a net.
Police Action and Family Allegations
Superintendent of Police Satyendra Kumar Singh stated that the accused young man is being sought. Every detail of the incident is being thoroughly investigated, and a case has been registered based on the initial report.
Moni's family has clearly stated that this was not an accident but a premeditated murder. They allege that the young man deliberately pushed her, causing Moni to fall into the pond and lose her life. The family is demanding strict action in this matter.
