US: Former US Ambassador and top Democratic leader Rahm Emanuel has leveled serious allegations against President Donald Trump, stating that Trump jeopardized the 40-year-old strategic partnership with India out of a desire for the Nobel Peace Prize. Emanuel also claimed that Trump's son took money from Pakistan, which created tension in India-US relations.

Questions Over India-US Strategic Partnership

Rahm Emanuel stated that India could have been a b partner for the US against China in manufacturing, technology, and the military sector. However, Trump's ego and desire for a Nobel Prize squandered this opportunity. Emanuel alleged that Trump weakened long-established ties by imposing 50% tariffs on India and increasing closeness with Pakistan.

Trump's Policies Increased Tension

The former ambassador said that Trump pressured India and Pakistan for a ceasefire and sought a Nobel Prize by presenting it as his achievement. He also stated that Operation Sindoor was halted at Pakistan's request. However, Trump publicly claimed at least 50 times that he brought both countries to heel by threatening 200% tariffs on India and Pakistan.

40 Years of Hard Work Wasted

Emanuel said, "The President sacrificed the relationships built with India by Democratic and Republican administrations, and even the progress made during his first term, for his ego and the money received from Pakistan." He asserted that Trump weakened the trust and partnership built with India solely for his personal achievements and desire for awards.

Controversy Over Money from Pakistan

Rahm Emanuel accused Trump's son and the son of his associate Steve Witkoff, Jack Witkoff, of taking money from Pakistan. He stated that Jack Witkoff entered into an agreement with the Pakistan Crypto Council in April 2025 to enhance digital financial transactions. Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Jared Kushner also held stakes in this company. Emanuel attributed this to Trump's soft policy towards Pakistan.

The former ambassador said that Trump took several steps to impose tariffs on India and exert pressure in trade, which were detrimental to the economic relations between the two countries. He believed that these actions were driven solely by Trump's personal ambition and desire for a Nobel Prize.
