Gold and silver prices remained elevated in India’s bullion market on June 17, with rates continuing to reflect movements in global markets, central bank purchases, and demand for safe-haven assets.
In the domestic market, 24-carat gold was trading in the range of approximately ₹1.55 lakh to ₹1.60 lakh per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at around ₹1.40 lakh to ₹1.46 lakh per 10 grams. Prices of 18-carat gold remained lower and varied across cities.
According to experts, the rise in gold prices has been influenced primarily by international economic uncertainty and the rupee’s position against the US dollar. Gold rates across major cities were recorded as follows:
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at approximately ₹1,51,520 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at approximately ₹1,38,900 per 10 grams.
In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was priced at approximately ₹1,51,370 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at approximately ₹1,38,750 per 10 grams.

In Chennai, 24-carat gold was priced at approximately ₹1,53,380 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at approximately ₹1,40,600 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was priced at approximately ₹1,51,520 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at approximately ₹1,38,900 per 10 grams.
Prices in other cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad remained broadly within a similar range. Minor variations may occur depending on local taxes, jewellery charges and regional demand.
Silver prices also remained at elevated levels across the country. The metal was trading in the range of approximately ₹2,50,000 to ₹2,80,000 per kilogram, with some cities reporting higher prices due to industrial demand.
The estimated silver rates on June 17 were:
10 grams: ₹2,650 to ₹2,800
100 grams: ₹26,500 to ₹28,000
1 kilogram: ₹2,65,000 to ₹2,80,000
Silver prices were comparatively higher in regions such as Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Kerala.
