Indian stock market outlook for November 5, 2026: GIFT Nifty signals a higher opening after Wall Street's rally. BSE, Nykaa, Bharti Airtel, M&M, ONGC and PI Industries shares remain in focus.

Indian Stock Market: Indian equity markets are expected to open sharply higher on Thursday, November 5, 2026, supported by a b rally on Wall Street and firm signals from GIFT Nifty. Shares of BSE, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra, ONGC, Nykaa and PI Industries are likely to remain in focus during the trading session.

The domestic stock market closed higher for the fifth consecutive trading session on Wednesday, November 4. The Sensex gained 383.55 points to settle at 77,301.40, while the Nifty advanced 149.75 points to close at 23,960.60.

Buying interest in banking, automobile, FMCG and selected other sectors supported the market. However, IT stocks remained under pressure. Purchases by foreign investors also contributed to the market's gains.

On Thursday morning, GIFT Nifty was trading at around 24,305, up approximately 355 points, indicating that the Sensex and Nifty could open significantly above their previous closing levels.

US stock markets recorded a sharp rally following the Democratic Party's victory in the US midterm elections.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1,569.40 points, or approximately 3%, to close at 53,356.12. The S&P 500 gained around 1.6%, while the Nasdaq advanced 1.4%.

The changing political situation in the United States has raised expectations of easing trade-related tensions.

However, Asian markets showed mixed trends. South Korea's KOSPI faced selling pressure, while Japanese equities recorded gains.

The decline in crude oil prices is another key factor for the Indian stock market. Brent crude was trading at around $94.50 per barrel after falling approximately 8.7% on Wednesday.

India imports a substantial portion of its crude oil requirements. Consequently, lower oil prices could reduce the country's import expenditure and inflationary pressure. Companies dependent on oil may also benefit from lower crude prices.
