IMD Weather Forecast November 4: Heavy Rain Alert in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and 4 Other States

The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in several southern and central Indian states on November 4 due to Cyclone Murasu. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and north-western India are not under a widespread heavy rainfall warning.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in several parts of India on November 4, including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. The impact of Cyclone Murasu continues across southern India, with heavy rainfall and b winds expected in some areas. However, no major storm warning has been issued for Delhi or north-western India.

The IMD has forecast very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on November 4. Heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

Rainfall is expected to continue in Odisha. Parts of Jharkhand and eastern Madhya Pradesh may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

However, claims circulating on social media and in some reports about simultaneous torrential rainfall across 19 states and storms with wind speeds of 90 kmph do not reflect a uniform warning issued by the IMD for all these states. According to the weather department, the best wind impact has been concentrated in cyclone-affected areas of southern India. No comparable severe warning has been issued for north-western India.

Severe Cyclonic Storm Murasu, which developed over the Bay of Bengal, crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast on the morning of November 3. It made landfall near Ongole, between Nellore and Narasapur.

During landfall, wind speeds ranged between 100 and 110 kmph, while gusts reached up to 120 kmph. According to the IMD, the cyclone is gradually weakening. Despite this, heavy rainfall is likely in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 4.

The cyclone poses risks of waterlogging in low-lying areas, falling trees and disruption to transportation. The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into coastal sea areas off Andhra Pradesh until the morning of November 4.

Delhi is expected to experience clear weather on Wednesday, November 4. The IMD has not issued any warning of heavy rainfall or b thunderstorms for the national capital.

Light haze may be observed during the morning hours, but it is expected to clear as the day progresses, allowing sunshine to prevail.

Winds from the north-west direction may blow at around 15 kmph during the afternoon. Wind speeds are expected to decrease after evening.

Morning and night temperatures in Delhi have started to become cooler. While daytime conditions remain relatively normal under sunshine, temperatures are expected to decline after sunset. Similar weather conditions may continue over the next few days.

No widespread heavy rainfall or major storm alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh on November 4. The IMD's national forecast also does not include a warning of storms with wind speeds of 80 to 90 kmph for the state.

Weather conditions may vary across cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut and Gorakhpur. Some areas may experience light morning haze, while others are likely to receive sunshine during the day. Morning and night temperatures may gradually decline with the beginning of November.
