Gold crosses ₹1.26 lakh per 10 grams, and silver nears ₹1.64 lakh per kg. Both recorded a surge on MCX. In the international market, gold weakened while silver strengthened. Domestic investor buying increased.
Gold-Silver Price Today: In the domestic market today, both gold and silver futures prices are showing b upward momentum. Gold is trading near ₹1,26,700 per 10 grams, and silver is near ₹1,64,150 per kilogram. Trading for both metals began with a surge today, which has piqued investor interest.
Surge in Gold Prices
Gold futures opened with slight softness in the morning but soon gained momentum. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the December contract opened with a gain of ₹121 at ₹1,26,344. At the time of writing, it was trading at ₹1,26,697, up by ₹232. During the day, gold touched a high of ₹1,26,729 and a low of ₹1,26,337. This year, gold has reached its highest level of ₹1,31,699.

Sharp Jump in Silver
Silver futures also started with a surge. On MCX, the December contract opened with a gain of ₹1,500 at ₹1,63,591. At the time of writing, it had reached ₹1,64,147, showing a jump of ₹2,081. During the day, it touched a high of ₹1,64,483 and a low of ₹1,63,000. This year, silver has reached its highest level of ₹1,69,200 per kg.
Gold Weak, Silver Strong in International Market
In the international market (Comex) today, gold started sluggishly, while silver showed improvement. Gold opened on Comex at $4,202.40 per ounce, which was below the previous closing price of $4,213.60. At the time of writing, gold was trading at $4,205.40 per ounce, down by $8.20. This year, gold has reached $4,398 per ounce internationally.
Meanwhile, silver showed strength on Comex. It opened at $53.27 per ounce, and at the time of writing, it was trading at $53.58 per ounce, up by $0.13. Its intraday high was $53.76 per ounce.
