Gold-Silver Price Today: On the morning of December 5, 2025, the gold and silver markets across the country witnessed activity. In early trading, gold slipped, while silver showed a slight uptick. The movement of the dollar, domestic demand, and global cues played a significant role in these fluctuations. This change has generated new interest among investors and customers, as both slight dips and rises were observed in gold and silver prices.
Gold and Silver Movement on MCX
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold for February delivery fell by over Rs 200 in the morning session, reaching a low of around Rs 1,29,802 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver for March delivery saw a surge of approximately Rs 1,700, touching a high of Rs 1,79,721 per kilogram. During trading, gold also touched an upper level of Rs 1,30,029, while silver's intraday low was observed at Rs 1,79,200. 22 and 24 Carat Gold Rates Across the Country

Gold prices saw a slight decline in major cities across the country. In Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, 22-carat gold is trading at Rs 1,18,990 and 24-carat gold at Rs 1,29,800 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, 22-carat gold was around Rs 1,18,840 and 24-carat gold at Rs 1,29,650. In Ahmedabad and Bhopal, the price for 22-carat was Rs 1,18,890 and for 24-carat, it was Rs 1,29,700 per 10 grams. This variation primarily depends on local demand and global market trends.
Impact of US Data on Gold
US employment data has altered the global direction of gold. Payroll data for November came in weak, considered the worst level since 2023. This fueled market expectations that the US Federal Reserve might cut interest rates. If this happens, both gold and silver could see an upward trend. Interest rate cuts reduce the attractiveness of bonds, leading investors to turn to gold and silver as safe havens. The Fed's next meeting is scheduled for December 9-10, which global investors are closely watching.
Fluctuations in Silver Prices as Well
Similar to domestic markets, international silver prices also witnessed activity. In the domestic market, silver reached approximately Rs 1,90,900 per kilogram in the morning. In the foreign market, the spot price of silver was around $57.34 per ounce. Silver prices tend to change more rapidly than gold because it is widely used in industries. Consequently, any global cues quickly lead to an increase or decrease in silver prices.
