Special Train Service for Makar Sankranti at Gorakhnath Temple

Indian Railways announces a special train service between Gorakhpur and Nautanwa to accommodate devotees attending Makar Sankranti celebrations at Gorakhnath Temple from January 13-23, 2026.

Gorakhpur, December 25, 2025 - To facilitate devotees arriving at the Gorakhnath Temple to offer Khichdi on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Railway Administration has decided to run a special fair special train on the Gorakhpur-Nautanwa route. This unreserved train will operate from January 13th to January 23rd, 2026.

Nautanwa to Gorakhpur (05016): Departure at 8:50 PM, arrival time in Gorakhpur at 12:15 AM. 

Gorakhpur to Nautanwa (05015): Departure at 2:30 AM, arrival time in Nautanwa at 5:15 AM. The train will consist of a total of eight DEMU coaches, and the service will run on ten round trips on each side.

The Railway Administration stated that this special train service will provide safe and convenient transportation for the large number of pilgrims attending the fairs. Passengers are requested to adhere to the scheduled timings and station stops.
