Gorakhpur — The cleanliness situation at Gorakhpur Railway Station has become a cause for concern. There is a large pile of garbage in the cab-way area of Platform Number 1, causing foul odor and inconvenience to passengers.
Passengers report that dirt is spread in the middle of the cab-way, with garbage scattered all around. The toilets in some coaches are particularly reported to be dirty, especially in AC coaches, causing additional trouble for women and children.
The fans installed in front of the station's ticket counters are non-functional, further inconveniencing passengers during the hot season.
There are also complaints of illegal extortion by parking contractors at the gate — passengers state that fees are forcibly collected even for "10 minutes."
Despite the holding areas created for crowd control at the station, there is no visible improvement in the cleanliness situation.
Due to these cleanliness deficiencies, not only is passenger convenience affected, but health-related risks are also increasing.
Railway management and responsible officials should take immediate action to make the station clean and safe for passengers.
Gorakhpur Junction should be made a station that offers a better passenger experience by increasing regular cleaning drives and surveillance.
