Patna: Amidst the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the opposition Grand Alliance is set to release its manifesto today. On this occasion, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will launch the manifesto. However, top Congress leaders will be absent from this significant event, intensifying political speculation.
The manifesto will be released on Tuesday in Patna, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will kickstart his election campaign from October 29. Senior Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot and Mallikarjun Kharge will also not be part of this event.
RJD Expels 27 Leaders from Party
Just before the manifesto's release, the RJD took a significant step regarding party discipline. The party has expelled 27 leaders on charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities. These leaders include several senior and locally influential figures, who were accused of working against the party, rebellion, or preparing to contest as independent candidates.
Ritu Jaiswal, a well-known social worker and considered a senior RJD leader from the Madhubani region, has also been expelled from the party. According to sources, the party had sent notices to all these leaders, demanding a response. As no reply was received within the stipulated time and indiscipline in party activities continued, they were removed from the party.

Tejashwi Yadav has stated that discipline is paramount in the party and no leader can be bigger than the organization. He said, "RJD is built on the ideology of social justice and equality. Those who work against the party for personal gain will have no place in this organization." Tejashwi also indicated that action would continue in the coming days if any other leader is found working against the party line.
This Grand Alliance manifesto has been prepared under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. It places special emphasis on the issues concerning Bihar's youth, farmers, women, and laborers. According to RJD sources, the following points have been prioritized in the manifesto:
- Promise to create 10 lakh government jobs, which has been a major election agenda for Tejashwi Yadav.
- Special investment plans for education, health, and rural development.
- Safety and economic empowerment programs for women.
- Guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and improvement in irrigation facilities.
- Establishment of a startup fund and digital skill centers for youth.
The slogan "Changing Bihar – Everyone's Right" has been included in the manifesto, reflecting the Grand Alliance's inclusive approach. The absence of Congress leaders has fueled much speculation in political circles. Analysts believe that the Congress party feels constrained due to the increasing dominance of the RJD in Bihar.
Congress sources state that Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Bihar on October 29 to commence his campaign and present the Grand Alliance's promises to the public.
