Pawan Kalyan's film 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' had a b opening day at the box office but saw a drop in collections over the next two days. The total collection for three days stood at ₹64.75 crore. Despite a slight increase on the third day, it lagged behind films like 'Game Changer'.
Box Office Report: Pawan Kalyan's highly anticipated film 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu – Part 1: Sword vs Spirit', despite a stellar performance on its opening day, failed to maintain its momentum through the third day. The film, which had been in discussion for a long time and generated widespread expectations among the audience, is not performing as bly at the box office as the first day's figures suggested.
Fantastic Opening Day
The film earned ₹34 crore on its first day. Additionally, preview screenings held on Wednesday before the release added an extra ₹12 crore to the collection. This meant that the film's initial gross earnings had already crossed ₹46 crore. Following this tremendous start, it was expected that the film would cross the ₹100 crore mark during the opening weekend.
Sharp Decline on the Second Day
However, the report for the second day was disappointing. 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu's collection dropped directly to ₹8 crore. This decline is being seen as a warning sign for the film. The initial enthusiasm of the audience waned, and the crowds at the ticket windows diminished.
Slight Recovery on the Third Day
On the third day, the film did a business of ₹9.25 crore. This signifies a slight increase compared to the second day, but not enough to make a significant difference for the film. The total domestic box office collection for three days reached ₹64.75 crore.
Film Lagging in Competition
Compared to other major films of 2025, this film has fallen behind. For example, Ram Charan's 'Game Changer' collected ₹51 crore on its first day itself. Meanwhile, some lower-budget films like 'Daku Maharaj' (₹25.35 crore), 'Sankrantiki Vastunam' (₹23 crore), and 'Kuber' (₹14.75 crore) were left behind by 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' in the initial days.
Film's Plot and Star Cast
Directed by Jyothi Krishna, this film is based in the 17th century. The story is about a rebellious bandit who revolts against a tyrannical regime. Due to the historical backdrop and action sequences, the film was presented as a grand pan-India project. Speaking of the star cast, the film includes Pawan Kalyan along with Bobby Deol, Nidhi Agarwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sunil Verma, and Sathyaraj. It was also believed that such a large star cast and grand sets would attract more multiplex audiences to the film, but the current collection indicates something else.
What is the Reason for the Decline?
Some of the main reasons behind the sudden decline in the film's earnings are believed to be:
- Mixed Reviews: Since the first day, the film started receiving mixed reviews on social media.
- Appeal of the Content: Despite the large sets and action, the novelty of the story is not impressing the audience as much.
- Tough Competition: The impact of other films released at the same time is also visible at the ticket windows.
- Multiplex vs Single Screen Difference: After the initial rush on single screens, there was a rapid decline.
