Hindustan Zinc Ltd., a Vedanta Group company, has reported its financial results for the first quarter of FY2026-27, which ended in June 2026. During the quarter, the company recorded a significant year-on-year increase in both net profit and revenue from operations. According to the company, its silver business made a substantial contribution to overall revenue and profitability.
According to figures released following the Board of Directors meeting held on July 24, 2026, Hindustan Zinc's Consolidated Net Profit stood at ₹5,469 crore in the first quarter. The company had reported a net profit of ₹2,234 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. This represents a year-on-year increase of approximately 145%.
Revenue from operations also registered substantial growth. For the first quarter of FY2026-27, revenue from operations increased to ₹13,747 crore, compared with ₹7,771 crore in the same period a year earlier. This reflects a year-on-year growth of approximately 77%. The company attributed the quarterly financial performance to improved metal prices, production performance, and a b contribution from its silver business.
The silver segment emerged as the company's primary growth driver during the quarter. Revenue from the silver business increased from ₹1,426 crore in the first quarter of FY2025-26 to ₹3,839 crore in the first quarter of FY2026-27, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase.
According to the company, favorable conditions related to global silver prices and demand also supported its quarterly performance. Silver remains a key component of Hindustan Zinc's business and played an important role in increasing the company's revenue during the quarter.
In addition to silver, the company's zinc, lead, and other metals businesses also contributed significantly to total revenue. These businesses generated revenue of ₹9,146 crore during the first quarter, compared with ₹6,116 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The company's wind energy business remained relatively stable. Revenue from this segment was ₹48 crore during the first quarter, compared with ₹49 crore in the same period a year earlier.
Hindustan Zinc had also announced an interim dividend for its shareholders. On April 24, 2026, the company's Board approved an interim dividend of ₹11 per equity share. The total dividend payout was reported at approximately ₹4,648 crore.
