Honda has launched the Shine 100 DX, a new avatar of its popular 100cc segment bike, the Shine 100, in the Indian two-wheeler market. This new model is specifically aimed at those who want a better combination of style, features, and safety at a lower price. The company launched the Shine 100 DX in the first week of July and its ex-showroom price has been set at ₹74,959.
A Difference in Colors Will Also Be Visible
Talking about colors, the company has introduced the Shine 100 DX in a total of four attractive color options: Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Jenny Grey Metallic. All these colors have been given a premium finish and glossy touch, which gives the bike an urban look.
Changed Look and Design
Efforts have been made to make the Shine 100 DX more attractive in terms of style. It has a new wide and raised fuel tank that gives the bike a powerful look. Chrome finishing has been done around the headlights, which makes the Shine 100 DX a bit more shiny. In addition, the all-black engine setup and bold graphics make it a model designed keeping the youth in mind.
Specialty of Digital Instrument Cluster
The biggest change in the Shine 100 DX is its new LCD digital instrument cluster. This cluster features real-time mileage, distance-to-empty, and service indicator, which are not commonly found in bikes in this segment. Whereas the Shine 100 still has a basic analog meter.
Difference in Tires and Safety Too
The new Shine 100 DX has been given tubeless tires, which can run for a short distance even in the event of a puncture. Along with this, safety features like a side-stand engine cut-off are also present. The Shine 100 still gets tube tires and the side stand engine cut-off feature is not given. However, both models have drum brakes and a combined braking system (CBS) as standard.
No Change in Engine and Performance
The company has installed the same engine in both the Shine 100 and Shine 100 DX bikes. They have a 98.98cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, and fuel-injected engine, which produces about 7.28 bhp of power and 8.04 Nm of torque. Both these bikes have a 4-speed gearbox, which is perfect for everyday needs.
What is the Price of Both?
The ex-showroom price of the Honda Shine 100 DX is ₹74,959. Whereas the price of the Shine 100 is ₹68,862. The price difference between the two is approximately ₹6,000. The price of Shine 100 DX has been determined keeping in mind its advanced features, new looks and safety upgrades.

Upgrades like style, digital cluster and tubeless tires make it different from the Shine 100. However, both models are b in their own place and customers can make their choice according to budget, need and priority.
