India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for a large-scale IAF military exercise across its entire northeastern region. This NOTAM, issued by the forces for six days, will see the Air Force conduct strategic exercises near the borders of China, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.
NEW DELHI: India has announced a large-scale Indian Air Force (IAF) exercise to bolster its air power and strategic readiness in the northeastern region. The Air Force has issued six-day NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) for this exercise, under which maneuvers will be conducted near the borders of China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
According to official sources, these exercises will be held on November 6, November 20, December 4, December 18, January 1, and January 15. During this period, the Indian Air Force will conduct joint air operations, logistics coordination, and strategic flights from various forward bases.
India's Air Dominance to Grow in Northeast
India's northeastern region is considered strategically highly sensitive as it is surrounded by China, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. The objective of the Indian Air Force's repeated exercises in this region is not only to test operational readiness but also to strengthen India's aerial defense along its neighboring borders.
According to sources, during these exercises, modern fighter jets like Rafale and Sukhoi Su-30MKI, transport aircraft like C-130J Super Hercules, and air surveillance systems like Netra AWACS will be utilized. Through these operations, the Air Force will test its quick response and interoperability capabilities in border areas.

Air Force Strategic Preparedness: Emphasis on Drones and Counter-Drones
Recently, the Indian Army completed a major military exercise named ‘Vayu Samanvay-II’ (Air Coordination-II) in the desert region of Rajasthan. This exercise was conducted under the Southern Command, with a special focus on drone and counter-drone operations.
Both the Air Force and the Army demonstrated real-time coordination, making it clear that India is rapidly becoming capable in Multi-Domain Operations. The exercise utilized indigenous technologies and modern warfare equipment, which is a significant example of India's Atmanirbhar Defence Strategy.
'Exercise Trishul': Major Drills Also Underway on Pakistan Border
Along with the northeastern region, India has also begun demonstrating its combat readiness along the western border. On Thursday, the Ministry of Defence launched 'Exercise Trishul', a tri-service military exercise, on the Pakistan border. This is a 12-day major exercise, with the Army, Navy, and Air Force all participating together.
It includes Rafale and Sukhoi fighter jets, along with Special Forces, missile units, warships, and Main Battle Tanks. Sources state that this exercise is being conducted in the border areas of Gujarat and Rajasthan, with a primary focus on the Kutch region. This is an area considered a potential strategic hotspot between India and Pakistan.
