Door Broken and Wild Grass Scattered in Principal's Office
NSUI activists at Indore's Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts and Commerce College adopted a unique method of protest regarding the long-pending demand for the removal of wild grass. On Monday, student leaders broke into the college's female principal's office and scattered wild grass inside, creating chaos throughout the campus. Following the incident, the police have registered a case against NSUI leader Aman Patwari and others, and have initiated an investigation.
The student leaders allege that they had repeatedly requested the college administration to remove the wild grass, especially around the statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but the administration took no action. Out of this frustration, they uprooted the wild grass themselves and placed it in the principal's office. When the principal, in protest, locked her office, the student leaders took this controversial step, creating a chaotic situation on the campus.
Police Investigation and Allegations
The police investigation is ongoing into the vandalism of the principal's office by NSUI activists at Indore's Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts and Commerce College. Bhanwarkua Police Station in-charge Rajkumar Yadav stated that based on a complaint from a college employee, a case has been registered against the accused for obstructing government work, vandalism, and indecent behavior. The police are conducting a thorough investigation with the help of video footage and witness statements.
Dr. Mamta Chandrasekhar, the principal of the college, bly condemned the incident, calling it a 'blot on the temple of education.' She stated that she was not in college at the time of the incident, but when she returned, she found wild grass scattered in her office. She said that some professors tried to calm the protesters, but the students misbehaved and broke the door with an iron rod. The principal also clarified that the order to remove the wild grass had already been given, but the situation had become uncontrollable due to the rain.
