Iran has responded sharply to President Trump's threat, saying that if the US or Israel attacks its nuclear sites again, it will respond in a way that cannot be concealed.
Abbas Aragchi Warns: Tensions between Iran and the United States over the nuclear program are once again at their peak. Following the open threat of military action issued by US President Donald Trump to Iran, Iran has also adopted an aggressive stance, issuing a stern warning.
Trump's Threat
Recently, President Trump stated in a statement that if Iran does not stop uranium enrichment, the United States may attack its nuclear sites again. He explicitly stated that if Iran restarts nuclear activities, the United States will destroy its entire program.
Iran's Strong Reaction
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has responded sharply to Trump's statement, considering it a serious challenge. In a social media post, he said, "If there is aggression again, Iran will respond on a large scale and launch an attack that will be impossible to cover up from the world."
Araghchi said that Iran has never bowed down to threats and will not do so in the future. He stated unequivocally that the Iranian people can accept respectful dialogue but not the politics of pressure and fear.
Attacks on Nuclear Sites Have Worsened the Situation
Last month, Israel carried out airstrikes on several major Iranian nuclear sites, in which several scientists and generals also died. In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli cities and also targeted the US military base in Qatar.
In the final two days of this tense event, the United States also became directly involved in the war and bombed three major Iranian uranium enrichment sites. However, no official confirmation of the extent of the damage from this attack has yet been revealed.
US Stance: Pressure More Than Dialogue
While speaking to the media during a trip to Scotland, Trump said, "They (Iran) may restart nuclear activities again. If that is done, we will destroy their entire nuclear program in a moment." This statement has currently put a stop to all avenues of dialogue between Iran and the United States. While Iran says that it is ready for dialogue only without conditions, the United States wants uranium enrichment to be completely stopped first.
Iran's Position
Iran has consistently stated that its nuclear program is entirely for peaceful purposes and its purpose is only energy production and scientific progress. Foreign Minister Araghchi reiterated that "We did not buy our program from anyone, it was built with blood, sweat, and tears." He also said that although the facilities may have been affected by the bombing, the knowledge and determination of our scientists and engineers cannot be destroyed.
IAEA Report and Western Concerns
According to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran is currently enriching uranium up to 60%. Whereas enrichment up to 90% is necessary for nuclear weapons. Based on this, the US and Israel believe that Iran is close to building a nuclear bomb. Iran argues that it does not want to make nuclear weapons, but will not stop its scientific development on anyone's orders.
