A case has come to light in Muralipura, Jaipur, where a businessman was threatened with extortion of 1 crore rupees. The accused brandished a revolver and sent intimidating messages on his mobile phone. Police have arrested the accused from Vidyadhar Nagar and have initiated interrogation. This incident is a matter of concern for law and order and the safety of businessmen.
Jaipur: On November 30th, an unidentified individual visited the home of a businessman involved in the peanut trade in the Muralipura area. The businessman and his wife were present at home. The businessman inquired about his business and suggested a meeting at the factory, at which point the accused brandished a revolver and began to threaten him. He said, “This is my business. If 1 crore rupees are not received within the next 10 days, you will all be prepared for the consequences. You don't know me yet, you don't know who we are.”
Following this incident, the accused began to continuously threaten the businessman and his family through phone calls and video messages. He also sent threatening messages to the businessman's son's mobile phone.
Accused apprehended based on mobile location
DCP (West) Hanuman Prasad stated that the police arrested the accused, Ilmuddeen (48), son of Kamruddin, resident of Koriyo ka Mohalla, Sadar Bikaner, by tracing his mobile location in the Vidyadhar Nagar area.
During police interrogation, the accused confessed to working as a collector of money from businessmen. Further information is currently being gathered, and investigations are ongoing to recover the illegal weapon.
Businessman files FIR
Muralipura police station SHO Virendra Kuril stated that the businessman filed an FIR on Friday. The businessman had gone to Medanta Hospital in Delhi for treatment 15 days ago. During that time, he received a call from an unknown mobile number, in which the accused identified himself as Ilmuddeen and scheduled a meeting for December 1st.
The businessman stated that it is unclear how the accused found out his home address. The accused threatened that if the money was not paid, they would face serious consequences.
Continuous threats
After the incident, the accused began to continuously threaten the businessman and his family. He started inquiring about arranging the money and sent threatening video messages to the businessman's son.
SHO Virendra Kuril said that this case poses a serious challenge to law and order in the Muralipura area. The police have arrested the accused and are now interrogating him.
Police action
DCP Hanuman Prasad stated that interrogation of the accused is still ongoing. The police are conducting raids to locate his illegal weapon and other associates. He said that it is very important to take action in time in such cases so that businessmen and the general public can remain safe.
The police are constantly vigilant to ensure security, and all possible clues are being gathered during the investigation. Necessary legal action will also be taken against the accused.
