Objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Congress rally have ignited political tensions. JP Nadda, in the Rajya Sabha, demanded an apology from Sonia Gandhi. The BJP has described it as an insult to a constitutional post.
New Delhi: The country's political landscape has been stirred by objectionable slogans raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a recent Congress rally. The matter has now reached Parliament. In the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda, considering the issue serious, demanded a public apology from Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi. He stated that such language is not only an insult to the office of the Prime Minister but also against the country's democratic traditions.
JP Nadda's Strong Statement in the Rajya Sabha
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, JP Nadda said that the slogans raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Congress rally were highly reprehensible. He said that this is not just an attack on an individual, but an insult to the highest constitutional post in the country. Nadda clearly stated that Sonia Gandhi should apologize to the nation for these statements made by Congress leaders.
JP Nadda said that the Congress's thinking and mentality are now coming to the fore. Such language against the Prime Minister cannot be accepted in any case. He also said that political opposition has its place, but there should be a limit to language and decorum.
Kiren Rijiju's Allegation in the Lok Sabha
Strong reactions were also seen in the Lok Sabha on this issue. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Sunday that some leaders at a Congress rally raised slogans like 'digging Prime Minister Modi's grave'. He described it as a very sad time for India.
Rijiju said it is surprising that a country's oldest party is using such words. He also said that many senior Congress leaders were present at the rally, and yet such slogans were raised. This raises questions about the responsibility and role of the Congress leadership.

Ally Parties Distance Themselves
Congress's ally parties have also shown discomfort over this controversy. The Samajwadi Party and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have distanced themselves from the statement. Samajwadi Party MP Rajiv Rai said that there can be political differences, but restraint is necessary when speaking about people holding constitutional positions.
NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil also said that raising such slogans is not right. He clearly stated that no matter how much political disagreement there is, Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country and there should be a decorum for him.
What Happened at the Rally
The entire controversy began after the 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' (Thieves of Votes, Leave the Seat) rally held on Sunday. This rally was organized in protest against the allegations of 'vote theft' leveled by the opposition against the BJP. During this, Jaipur Women Congress District President Manju Lata Meena was accused of raising a slogan related to 'grave' against Prime Minister Modi.
After the video and statement of this slogan surfaced, b reactions began in political circles. BJP leaders attacked the Congress, calling it highly objectionable.
Clarification on the Statement
When journalists questioned Manju Lata Meena about the statement, she defended it. She said she was only expressing the public's anger over the vote theft. She said that the Prime Minister does not talk about employment, youth, women and farmers and distracts attention.
