The prevailing situation was assessed and security measures were discussed in the security review meeting held at the Kashmir Police Control Room on Thursday.
DGP Directs Strict Vigilance on Social Media and Prevention of Rumors
Jammu-Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat has given strict instructions to district police chiefs to continuously monitor false and misleading information spreading on social media. He stated that rumors and misleading news on social media can pose a serious threat to public safety and law and order. Officials should remain vigilant and promptly suppress any inappropriate posts or content.
The DGP clarified that all activities on social media platforms in the region will be monitored, and officials will be activated to immediately remove any propaganda material and take action against those responsible.
Directives Issued to Increase Police Presence in Sensitive Areas
In the meeting, the Inspector General of the region and heads of various branches briefed the DGP on the current security situation in Jammu-Kashmir, recent anti-terrorism operations, and police presence in sensitive areas. Officials were directed to ensure effective security measures and maintain continuous surveillance in sensitive areas.
Furthermore, emphasis was placed on strengthening local policing and community outreach programs to monitor rising crime and potential threats. It was ensured that the safety of citizens remains the top priority and that preparedness is complete to deal with all kinds of threats.
Ordered Immediate Action Against Anti-National Activities
DGP Nalin Prabhat instructed district police chiefs to continuously monitor the activities of anti-national elements in their respective areas and to immediately prevent any inappropriate actions. Officials were also asked to further strengthen the security system with the cooperation of local people and to improve community policing programs.
